African chicken, cisar hen

Breeding of guinea fowl broiler birds began in France. They are the ancestors of the broiler species of guinea fowl. It is not as popular as raising chickens, due to which it is profitable to engage in such a business due to the lack of competitors. Broiler meat contains easily digestible protein, minimal amounts of water and fat, and no cholesterol. Meat with excellent taste is a dietary product and does not lose its taste during heat treatment. Due to the fact that birds feed on all kinds of insects and vegetation, the egg products of guinea fowl contain B vitamins, vitamins A and B and D3. This is much more than in ordinary chicken eggs. When consuming broiler eggs, allergic reactions do not occur, which allows the product to be used for baby food. Broiler guinea fowl have increased resistance to many infectious diseases. A distinctive feature of guinea fowls is their friendly nature, for this reason it is permissible to keep these birds with other breeds.

All meat species of guinea fowl were bred by breeders by crossing with other birds, in particular mainly with chickens. Thanks to this, it was possible to improve their appearance, maintain moderate egg production, and increase the live weight of adults.

On average, depending on the breed, it produces from 130 to 180 eggs per year. The weight ranges from 1 kg 600 g to 2 kg, and broilers reach 3 kg, 3.2 kg, 3.5 kg.

Representatives of each egg type have their own characteristics. For example, the Siberian white was specially bred to be kept in cold climates. In winter, she not only maintains egg production, but also quickly gains weight. For this reason, this species is bred not only for eggs, but also for slaughter for meat. This breed of birds loves space and freedom, so we keep them in large enclosures. If this possibility worsens, then we place them in cages, but in cages they will slowly gain weight, egg production deteriorates - this is a disadvantage of this breed. It is advisable to let guinea fowl out for a walk so that they can freely go and eat some green food. If you do not additionally feed the diet with grain, wet mash and root vegetables, they gain weight very slowly.

In general, guinea fowls are very friendly, they quickly get used to people and do not require special care like other birds. You can feed them the same products as chickens, but the slaughter yield of meat and the number of eggs will be significantly higher.
